a&dc R&D Director, Dan Hughes, speaks at International Congress on Assessment Center Methods
November 3-4th 2015 saw the 39th International Congress on Assessment Center Methods take place in San Diego. a&dc’s Research & Development Director, Dan Hughes, joined other Assessment thought leaders, academics and practitioners to discuss the congress theme, ‘Insights in High Definition: Using Multiple Assessment Instruments for a Sharper Leadership Image.’
Dan’s session centred around ‘Leadership Assessment for a VUCA World.’ VUCA stands for Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous, and reflects today’s current business environment. The session explored what makes an effective leader in this environment and the benefits of leadership assessment integrating behavioural simulations with psychometrics and interview data.
Dan explained a&dc’s five key leadership dimensions, Learning, Intellect, Values, Emotions and Drive (LIVED®) and then described an in-depth leadership assessment process that can be used to explore an individual’s capability, working style and motivators in relation to these dimensions.
