Exceptional annual performance sees A&DC expand US operation...
By James Foster

Continuing strong growth of A&DC’s UK business, up by 27% over the last 12 months and requiring a 15% increase in employee numbers, has led the talent management consultancy to expand its global presence with a new office in the USA.

Two of its senior occupational psychologists, Lucy Povah and Kate Sobczak, will lead the US business, moving from the UK to New Jersey.  The US investment plan has been sparked by the increasing numbers of multi-nationals using A&DC’s behavioural focused talent management expertise.  A&DC’s aim is to support increasing numbers of US companies that compete in regions worldwide requiring people strategy to meet business strategy.

Nigel Povah, Managing Director and Founder of A&DC, says, “Increasingly, US companies are capitalising on the global economy rather than focusing solely on their own market.  Exactly like UK companies with the same goal, they need to ensure staff can function effectively with the challenges of different cultures, aligning people strategy to business strategy.  Our global experience helps us do this by implementing strategic and tactical level talent management solutions.

“We work for many global organisations helping them to accurately and fairly assess and develop employees, whether they are working in their home market or in other parts of the world.  It is essential that they have a common organisational standard and the right people, doing the right things, to meet the needs of the business.”

A&DC has had a US presence for the past four years, establishing a market to sell its globally used AC-EXS® products.  This increased investment enables A&DC’s occupational psychologists to work directly with their US counterparts to provide consultancy support for their talent management challenges.

“We understand that American organisations recognise the need for support in their desire for a more global perspective and want to ensure they keep their selection, development and engagement strategies in the best shape to ensure they have a head start when the economy improves again.”

Kate and Lucy begin their US adventure this April, presenting their take on global assessment practices at one of America’s leading HR conferences, SIOP (The Society for Industrial-Organizational Psychology) and attending HRPS (The Human Resource Planning Society).
