Nigel Povah - BSc (Hons), MSc, CPsychol

Managing Director

Nigel is the MD and founder of A&DC in 1988. He has a degree in Psychology from Leeds University and an MSc in Occupational Psychology from Birkbeck College. He is a Chartered Psychologist, a Graduate member of the BPS and a Founding Member of the Association of Business Psychologists.

Nigel has over 25 years experience and his primary area of interest is in Assessment & Development Centres and he is the co-author of a book of the same name. He was a member of the BPS’ committee which created the guidelines for best practice in the design and implementation of Assessment & Development Centres and he frequently presents papers at conferences in this area.

Over the years he has worked with private and public sector clients, such as Compaq, DTI, DVLA, Ford, HMRC, Ordnance Survey, Parker Hannifin and Unilever.  

Prior to forming A&DC, Nigel worked as a Training Manager at ICL, as a Recruitment Consultant and as a professional Chess player. He holds the title of International Master and has represented England on several occasions.
